Some months ago,
Clwb Chwarae Teg! (the Fair Play Club!) Trefor, Arfon,
cooperated with Save the Children, trialing the charity's
website which looked at the lives of young people in Kroo
Bay, Sierra Leone.
During this meeting we were informed of a
special appeal by Save the Children inviting people to knit
hats for newborn babies in Africa and Asia. A simply woolly
hat can save a little baby's life.
According to Save the Children, 10 million
children die each year before they are five years old
because of lack of basic healthcare. We had to support the
Knit One Save One campaign. We wrote a letter to
Trefor Knitting Club inviting them to support the campaign.
On Saturday 12 October in the Centre in
Trefor, Eurgain Hâf of Save the Children Wales came to
Trefor to collect 885 hats knitted by the Trefor Knitting
Club and their friends in Ruthin, Bala and Ffôr.
Congratulations to the two clubs for cooperating and
producing excellent work!
