Progress
report from Sierra Leone
The
Director of Christian Aid in Wales, Jeff Williams, is to visit
Sierra Leone between 10 and 24 November 2008.
Jeff,
alongside Christian Aid's Head of Communications in Wales,
Branwen Niclas, will visit the partners supported by the
Presbyterian Church of Wales in its 2007 appeal. The Appel
raised £250,000 and this trip aims to report back to the
fundraisers on the difference that their support has made.
"We
are very thankful to the Presbyterian Church of Wales for its
long-term supoprt to Christian Aid. The Presbyterians' support
has always been generous, but this time the response was
fantastic, and surpassed our expectations. We'll be filming a
dvd whilst in Sierra Leone, which will give those who
contributed to the 2007 Appeal a unique opportunity to see
exactly where their contributions went," said Jeff Williams.
“"We are
always encouraged by people's generosity towards the work done
by Christian Aid, even during these times when money is short
but without the public's financial support, the work would not
happen," he added.
The dvd,
which will be released in Spring 2009, will show the work in
Sierra Leone and will include interviews with people who will
benefit from the Appeal.
