Window on the World 2009

“Window on the World” is a holiday conference organised by the European Region of the Council for World Mission. The conference gives the opportunity for Christians of all ages meet together with the world church, learn more about God’s mission and to grow in faith.  Challenging theme talks, lively and creative worship, outdoor activities, sports and entertainment all contribute towards making a Window on the World experience.

“Window on the World” in 2009 is from 10th-16th August at The Urdd Centre, Llangrannog.  The 2009 theme is “take home the good news,” with Revd Lawrence Moore, Director of the Windermere Centre as the keynote speaker.

The conference will reflect on what is the good news we are invited to share?  Why are Christians often reluctant to share the good news and how can we share our faith with people whilst remaining a good neighbour?  Lawrence who studied in South Africa with David Bosch and whose centre exists to ‘help the church discover its mission’ will lead the conference to consider these questions and more.

Worship at the conference will be led by Terry MacArthur who was a worship consultant to the World Council of Churches and is currently Director of Music to the English speaking Lutheran Church in Geneva.  ‘Almost Eliott’ a West Country Christian band will also be leading worship at the conference, to help things go with a swing.

The Urdd Centre, Llangrannog, provides full conference facilities, restaurant, a leisure centre, heated indoor swimming pool and a whole range of outdoor activities, including pony trekking, skiing, archery etc.
