Dozens of PCW churches will open
their doors on Saturday 30 May and invite
members and members of the public in to spend a
few quiet minutes of reflection and prayer.
STOP!...in
the name of God is a prayer day organised to
remind us of how God poured strength and energy
into the lives of his followers, deepening their
conviction and creating a new community - the
Church - at Pentecost time.
"
We're experiencing a
recession which is challenging our values and priorities, which is throwing thousands into unemployment
and causing families to lose their homes; which
is creating a cloud over society," said Revd
Dafydd Andrew Jones, Director of the Life and
Witness Board. "So here is a change to share and
bear witness to the values of our Lord and
Saviour."
"
We
know how weak the Christian Church in Wales is,"
he added. "Problems can paralyse congregations
which remember better days. But we hope that
this prayer day, along with all our activities
and prayers at other times, will help revive our
churches and communities.
