Speaking at the launch of the
Strategy in Wrexham on 3 December, the Minister
for Social Justice & Local
Government Minister, Dr Brian Gibbons, said: "Community
cohesion is all about getting on together and
the Strategy aims to do what it says on the tin.
It is about different sections of the community
learning to respect each other, to understand
each other’s views and to get on together even
though there may be differences between them."
Revd Dafydd Andrew Jones,
Director of Life and Witness for the
Presbyterian Church of Wales, said: "It is
an honour and a pleasure for the
Presbyterian Church of Wales to be part of this
activity, whose aim is to cross linguistic,
religious and cultural boundaries in order to
create a harmonious community."
Speaking of the Strategy's
launch, Marilyn Priday, Interfaith
Development Worker at Community House, said:
"Sue Lewis and I went to Wrexham for the
meeting, which was held at the Catrin Finch
Centre in the University. It is always good
to meet new people and do some networking.
Then this Monday there was a meeting of the
Interfaith Council of Wales at Community
House. I am the Newport Interfaith
representative on the Council. This was my
first meeting. It gave us a chance to show
what is happening at CH."
